Dear South Texas ISD Families,
On behalf of our board of trustees, campus administrators, and staff, welcome to the 2026–2027 school year. Thank you for once again entrusting us with your child's education.
We recognize that this decision is not a small one. Many of our families travel past a neighborhood campus to be here, and many have adjusted work schedules and daily routines to make it possible. You have done so because you expect more for your child, and because you believe this district can deliver it. We do not take that confidence lightly.
Here is our commitment to you in return: educators who know your child by name and by potential; classrooms where expectations are high and support is equally high; and honest, timely communication about your child's progress, in good stretches and in difficult ones.
A word about the year ahead. Our students accomplish remarkable things here, and that achievement comes with genuine demands. There will be an assessment that does not go as hoped, an evening when the work runs long, a moment of self-doubt. These experiences are part of academic growth rather than evidence that something has gone wrong. When they occur, we ask that you contact us. Reach out to the teacher, the campus office, or your child's counselor. We would far prefer to hear from you early than to learn of a concern after the fact.
We also encourage your continued involvement. Attend campus events, ask about assignments and projects, and read the communications we send. Students perform at their best when the adults in their lives are informed and working in concert.
Your child's success this year will be a shared accomplishment: their effort, our instruction, and your support at home. That partnership is the foundation of this district's performance.
To our returning students, welcome back. We are glad to see you again, and we look forward to watching you build on everything you accomplished last year.
To our new students, welcome to South Texas ISD. You belong here. Take advantage of every opportunity in front of you, introduce yourself to your teachers, and know that a great many people on this campus are already invested in your success.
We are pleased to have your family with us and look forward to a successful year together.
