Not only is the sweet and open-minded Bio-Loving senior from Medical Professions genetically-tuned with all things biology, she is genetically-synced with all things STISD - it’s in her DNA.
This month we are in frame with Carmen Herrera.
STISD is consistently ranked among the best in the state and nation.
STISD is the only all-magnet school district in the state, and offers Valley students an educational alternative. The district provides a personal environment, a strong scholastic program and hands-on training in vocational career fields.
Because STISD is a public school district, there is no cost for students to attend one of its six campuses, and bus transportation is also free of charge.
STISD schools maintain an open enrollment policy, meaning any student that wants to attend one of our six campuses can as long as he or she resides within the tri-county area we serve.
At STISD, meet curious, collaborative and driven students just like you.
At STISD, there's more to experience than solely academics. Explore what life is like as an STISD student, and be part of the many extracurricular competitive activities and social clubs.
STISD seeks to employ individuals who are committed to serving students and our communities, and can help advance our goals of consistently learning and always innovating.
By being employed at STISD, one gains the opportunity and the responsibility to make a difference within the world of education and student growth.
The community here at STISD is diverse, interactive and vibrant. We take pride in each and every position that plays a part in making our district unique and consistently ranked among the best in the state and nation.
If you are looking for spunk and excitement and non-traditional methods of learning, the STISD community is the perfect match and offers endless opportunities.
STISD is now accepting enrollment forms for new-to-district students for all campuses for the 2023-2024 School Year.
STISD is an open-enrollment school district, and all students within the tri-county area served - Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy Counties - are eligible to enroll with us at STISD.

Enrollment is first-come, first-served. All forms will automatically go to the wait list once submitted. You may request a seat from as many campuses as you wish. If you are able to secure a seat, you will receive a notification with a seat offer from the campus. If you do not receive a seat offer within three business days of submitting your enrollment form, it was not received in time to secure one of the available seats. You will remain on the wait list in case additional seats come about. You may contact the campus with any questions regarding your status.
If you received a notification with an offer from the campus for which you applied, you must ‘Log In’ to Schoolmint to accept the offer and continue with the enrollment packet. Offers must be accepted within two weeks. If you do not, the campus will rescind your offer. Please note: you may only accept one campus seat offer. Accepting an offer will automatically cancel or decline any other campus selection submitted. If this happens, you will have to start over in selecting the appropriate campus in which you wish to enroll, and the enrollment form will again automatically go the wait list once submitted.
