Libraries

South Texas ISD Libraries are hubs of active learning that enhance student achievement through collaboration, innovation and diverse resources.

STISD has four libraries that support our district community: Biblioteca Las Americas (Mercedes), Eliseo B. Vega Library (Olmito), Gateway to the World Library (Edinburg) and the Rising Scholars Academy Library (San Benito).

Teentober

TeenTober is a nationwide celebration hosted by libraries every October that aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways teen services help young adults learn new skills, and fuel their passions in and outside the library. As part of TeenTober, we created a virtual calming room. We invite you to click here and enjoy. It's important to take time for yourself!

New and Popular in the Library

STISD libraries are pleased to offer a strong and mighty collection for you to browse. Students and staff may select their library and search books in the catalog here. You will discover that each library has a broad collection of fiction, non-fiction, manga, test prep, specialized collections, DVDs and more. Also, these days books take different forms, such as e-books and audio books. Contact your school librarian if you need assistance checking out your next great read or study materials.
