We thank you again for your patience today as we worked with law enforcement to address a situation we had at our Preparatory Academy campus and our Edinburg complex. We know there are rumors circulating on campus and outside of STISD regarding what happened, and we want to make sure our community is informed on the facts regarding the incident.

There was a suspicious incident at our Preparatory Academy campus just before 10 o’ clock a.m. today. Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately placed the school on lockdown and worked with our local law enforcement to ensure all students and staff were safe and secure. The lockdown has been lifted, and we are releasing students whose parents wish to pick them up early.

Owen’s current stage is South Texas ISD World Scholars.

We are happy to announce that South Texas ISD (STISD) is a National School Boards Association (NSBA) 2023 Magna Award winner. STISD was recognized for its commitment to innovation as a winner in the 29^thannual awards program, and is one of 18 winners — three Grand Prize winners, nine Silver Award winners, and six honorable mentions — across the nation receiving this honor.

The Superintendent's Cup Soccer Tournament will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Harlingen Soccer Complex located at 4515 E. Harrison Ave. in Harlingen.

Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. for a district wide Title III Family Engagement Event hosted by the STISD Special Programs Department in partnership with TEA.

Not only is the sweet and open-minded Bio-Loving senior from Medical Professions genetically-tuned with all things biology, she is genetically-synced with all things STISD - it’s in her DNA.

STISD will open enrollment for the 2023-24 school year on Saturday, Jan. 14.

The enrollment form must be completed online at www.stisd.net. STISD is a tuition-free, open-enrollment district, and all students residing in Cameron, Hidalgo or Willacy County are eligible to enroll.
