This week Niche released its 2024 Best Schools K-12 School & District Rankings, solidifying a decade of South Texas Independent School District (STISD) and its campuses ranking among the best in the state and nation in this poll.

We are preparing to launch our new messaging system - SchoolMessenger - to deliver family communications.
This system will allow us to communicate with parents/guardians via email, automated phone calls and texts (SMS).

The athletic program at South Texas Independent School District (STISD) Preparatory Academy (Preparatory Academy) in Edinburg was recently named the 2022-2023 Texas Charter School Academic & Athletic League (TCSAAL) Texas Cup winner for the Middle School Premier Schools division based upon its performance last athletic season.

Along with the new student information system (Skyward), STISD is using a new messaging system - SchoolMessenger - to deliver family communications.
All STISD parents/guardians must opt in to receive text messages from STISD in order to receive this form of communication.

South Texas Independent School District (STISD) is currently accepting applications for free and reduced-price meals for the 2023-2024 school year. The 2023-2024 Free and Reduced-Price Meals application is available at every school office and on the STISD website at https://www.stisd.net/student-life/nutrition.

Today, U.S. News & World Report published its 2023-2024 Best High Schools Rankings, which included all four South Texas Independent School District (STISD) high schools among the top-ranked schools in the state and nation.
Sweeps of all campuses have been completed, and as per the direction of the local law enforcement agencies, the lockdowns at all campuses have now been lifted.
Sweeps of our Mercedes campuses (Health Professions and Science Academy), Edinburg campuses (Preparatory Academy and World Scholars), and Rising Scholars Academy in San Benito have been completed, and as per the direction of the local law enforcement agencies, the lockdowns at those campuses have been lifted.
Medical Professions remains on lockdown, as law enforcement continues to secure the facilities.
