There was a suspicious incident at our Preparatory Academy campus just before 10 o’ clock a.m. today. Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately placed the school on lockdown and notified our local law enforcement.
With recent events that have occurred in our local schools over the last few weeks and other events that have happened across the state, we will not take any chances with any circumstances that occur on any of our campuses.
We followed the protocols we have in place with law enforcement and as a district to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff.
Once in place, law enforcement managed the situation onsite. Law enforcement did a thorough investigation and has cleared the campus. Lockdown has been lifted.
We want to thank our law enforcement partners for all their assistance today.
Everything is secure, and we are working on releasing our students whose parents wish to pick them up early.
We understand this type of circumstance can be stressful, and we have and will continue to have our counseling team onsite for any students, staff member, or family member that may need support.
