The annual event, which is organized by the STPA PSTO, in collaboration with the campus staff, students and parents, encompasses team-building activities and fun sporting events to build awareness and skills to lead to more active and healthy lifestyles, while also increasing school spirit. Generous community members and local businesses also join in to assist with raising funds to benefit the students of STPA and a local non-profit organization of choice.

This year’s event included a 5K Run & Walk, words of encouragement and stunt demonstrations from local American Ninja Warrior Abel Gonzalez, and friendly-fun competitive sports.

Thanks to the generous contributions of corporate, community, and parent sponsors, over $18,000 was raised through the event, allowing the campus to achieve its goal of donating $5,000 to the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children’s and Hematology Center, a foundation established in the Rio Grande Valley in 2001 in response to a critical unmet need for local pediatric cancer care. The foundation ensures that local children who suffer from cancer and blood diseases receive the most up-to-date care and treatment close to home and regardless of ability to pay, serving thousands of children and their families each year.
