STISD To Hold Elections for School Board in November

Elections will be held in Cameron County for Commissioner’s Precinct 2 and 4, in Hidalgo County for Commissioner's Precinct 1 and 3, and in Willacy County for Commissioner's Precinct 2 and 3. 

The application for a place on the ballot is available at the STISD Central Office, located at 100 Med High Drive in Mercedes (Mile 2 West and Expwy. 83). Office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, through Aug. 5, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays, starting Aug. 8.

The first day to file for a place on the ballot will be Saturday, July 23. The last day to file for a place on the ballot will be Monday, Aug. 22, at 5 p.m.

All persons desiring to vote in the election may cast their votes in the general elections for school board on Nov. 8, at the designated polling places for the aforementioned precincts. Early voting by personal appearance begins on Oct. 24 and ends on Nov. 4.
